| Q) What is the best height to hang pictures? |
|
A) The focal point of the picture at around 5ft 6inch (1.8m) is the most comfortable height for most people. |
Q) Which hooks should I use to hang my pictures
 |
|
A) This depends upon the weight of your pictures and the type of hanging system you choose. The rule of thumb is Smartspring on Perlon up to 4kg per hanger (8kg for two hangers on one picture)
Zippers on Perlon up to 10kg (20kg for two)
Zippers on steel 15kg (30kg for two)
Spring hooks on rods for J-Rail 15kg (30kg for two)
Museum hooks (including anti-theft) on 4x4 Museumrods on J-rail MAX 40kg (80kg for two)
Museum hooks on 4x10 Museumrods on J-rail MAX 100kg - maximum load per linear metre

A) There are a number of different types of hangers for the different systems.

| Q) How do I know which hanging system to use on my walls? |

A) All systems fit most walls - if in doubt, contact us for free advice |
| Q) What is the delivery time for the hanging system once I have ordered it? |
|
A) Allow 21 working days, although delivery is usually less. We keep you informed of your order progress and let you know as soon as it has been despatched. |
| Q) When hanging pictures of different sizes should I line up the top of the pictures, the bottoms or the middles? |
|
A) There are no hard and fast rules. The accepted practice is either to line up the tops or the bottoms but lining up the middles gives a less formal look while still keeping a common line. |
| Q) I need to hang a whiteboard; can I do it with this system? |

| Q) The wall where I want to hang my pictures is very dark. How can I overcome this? |

A) Have a look at the Hang 2 Light system. It should be ideal |
| Q) Can you come and fit the hanging system? |
|
A) The system is very simple to install. We do not provide a fitting service as anyone competent at DIY can do it. |
| Q) How can I find out what my walls are made of? |
|
A) If in doubt ask a builder, a reputable handyman or a DIY person that you trust to check your walls. Or call us on 0845 130; we may be able to give you guidance over the phone. |
| Q) I have a very heavy mirror. What is the safest way of hanging it? |

A) J-rail Max can carry up to 100kg per linear metre. Contact us for more information on how to hang it. |
| Q) Are there any hints or tips you can give me on the best way to fit the hanging system? |

| Q) How do I know if there are any wires or water pipes where I'm drilling? |
|
A) Check all walls with a stud detector - available from most DIY stores - before drilling. |
| Q) I have wood and plasterboard internal walls; can I fit the hanging system to them? |
|
A) By fitting the system to the studs that the plasterboard is nailed to you can hang almost any weight of picture. |
| Q) I want to hang pictures in rows above each other; how do I do this? |
|
A) All you have to do is fit multiple hooks on the hangers and adjust them for height and level. |
| Q) What do I do if I haven't ordered enough hangers or hooks? |
|
A) Extra hangers and hooks are available. Call us on 0845 130 3830 to order more. |
| Q) Is the system just for art galleries? |
|
A) No, we supply private houses, offices, schools and other places as well as galleries. |
| Q) How do I stop pictures moving? |
|
A) Use two hangers for each picture and secure the hooks to the D-rings on the back of the picture. |
